Canteen

It is nearly time to say goodbye to the classes of 2010 of Chinese School.
It has been an amazing year feeding so many hungry mouths at morning recesses.  The children are kept content with many choices of hot food and a whole range of snacks, drinks and ice cream.
Fortunately, Canteen has a team of dedicated parents voluntarily lending their helping hands every Sunday at the Canteen kitchen to keep our children happy.
I are very proud to announce that all the profit made by the Canteen being directed back to the school to purchase much needed facilities as laptops, projectors, speakers and books.
Recently, the Canteen catered for the Mid-Autumn Festival and from that event alone, the
Canteen raised over $1,700 for the school. Parents, friends and students of the school put in hours and hours of work to ensure the catering was successful. For the first time, this event also saw three of our canteen volunteers dressed up as ‘Kung Fu Panda’ and ‘Moon (Jade) rabbit’ for the entertainment of the students (and some parents too!). The identities of these shy volunteers will remain mysterious – Have a guess on who they may be?
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the following Canteen supporters for their hard work; Christine Mu, Hooi Suan Khoo, Eric Yap, Mr. & Mrs. Chau, George Lee, Mr. Stephen and Mrs. Doris Ngui, Fei You, Ashlee Huynh, Jamie Huynh, Brandon Yap, Shannon Yap, Brendan Giang, Michelle Dang, Eric Yee, Wengnie Peng, Uncle Cleeve and Greg Matulich.
A special thank you to Mai Saw for organising a huge donation of snacks and drinks from Oriental Merchant for the kids’ supper packs.   Mai and her mother in law also donated a wide range of cakes and kuih for supper.  Thank you!
Oriental Merchant is a very big supporter of all our school events.  We are very grateful to have such a sponsor who is always there to give us a helping hand. Thank You Oriental Merchant.
I would also like to express my gratitude to  Vincent Chow for collecting and delivering all the donated goods for the Canteen.
Also, I would like to acknowledge the donation of 10 boxes of spring rolls from my dear friends, Sue and Hock Eap.  The kids love them.  Thank you so much for your thoughts.
Canteen is staffed by all volunteers.  We welcome any new parents to come and join us and share in the fun whilst we cook, chat and serve our own kids.
I would like to sincerely thank my existing team of volunteers for their dedication and commitment to the Canteen.
