Special Events

Chinese Consulate Friendship Games

Teams comprising a mix of representatives of the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China and representatives of CAV Table Tennis Sub Group compete in round robin matches in this annual event. The occasion is often combined with a social get-together of the participants and spectators and an informal lunch.

Community Challenge Games

Five to six invited teams from various community associations and table tennis clubs compete for a Challenge Shield and winner and runner-up trophies in matches played in the CAV Centre in an atmosphere of friendship and community spirit.

Away Games

The CAV Table Tennis Sub Group frequently fields teams in various categories to play in invitational competitions held at external venues.

Other “Fun” Games & Competitions

To encourage more members to participate in competition-type matches, the CAV Table Tennis Sub Group occasionally stages friendly and informal in-house games based on a handicap system. The occasion is often accompanied by karaoke.  “To play and to have fun” is the underlying objective of such games.

Table Tennis Sub Group Annual Dinner

This is the major event of the year and is held to foster a spirit of fellowship and camaraderie among members of the CAV Table Tennis Sub Group, their partners, spouses and friends, and members and friends of other CAV sub groups. Traditionally, members of the CAV Table Tennis Sub Group are entitled to personal-to-holder free tickets to this event which features an evening of relaxation, good food, great entertainment (karaoke and others) and dancing,
