Social Golf Sunday

Date: 12th June 2011
Venue: Devil Bend GC

22 players participated. We all enjoyed the challenging course, the scenery, the weather and the pasta/pizza afterwards at Sofia in Frankston. The winners were Jo Chin (ladies’), Y Chai (men’s) and Jo Chin/Chris Lee (team event).

 

Social Golf Sunday

Date: 11th September 2011
Venue: Patterson River GC
Tee-off Time: 12 noon

28 players participated in the social golf game at Patterson River on Sunday 11 Sep. The game finished around 5:00pm followed by dinner at Danny’s Kopitiam in Glen Waverley.

At the 12 noon tee-off, rain and strong wind came and blew over within 15 min. After that the weather turned into a beautiful, partly cloudy, day.

Everyone enjoyed the game especially those with good scores. We had a 4BBB team competition and 4 nearest to pin holes. The highest team score was 49 stableford points by Yung Chai and Guan Chew. The highest men’s & ladies’ scores were 39 points by Chong Ooi and 33 points by Angie Lo. The winners of the nearest to pin were Raymond Goh, Guan Chew, Tim Lo and Frank Loh.

Our dinner was prepared by our restaurant owner/friend Danny Ko who cooked mustard green soup, chicken curry kapitan, braised pork legs, sambal mussels, fried vegetables & red bean/longan dessert. Everyone enjoyed the delicious meal especially at a low cost of $5 per person (partly subsidized by CAV Golf). Yung Chai told a great joke which lighten up the atmosphere.

CAV Golf Bus Weekend Getaway 2011

Date: 21st to 23rd October 2011
Venue: Port Fairy and Warnambool
Time: Pickup Points at CAV Centre at 7:00AM and Kew at 9:00AM

Leaving on Fri morning 21st & returning Sun 23rd Oct. 2011 by coach and have a BBQ on the way there. We’ll play at Port Fairy on Sat afternoon and Warrnambool on Sun morning. Estimated cost for golfers is $250 pp for transport, golf and accommodation (twin share). Non golfers pay $170 (no green fees). Spots are limited, we can only take 40 people on the bus. Priority will be given to CAV members.  A large number have already indicated their intention to come. So please book early as this will be on a first come first served basis. Booking will only be confirmed by paying a deposit of $70.00 per person before the end of August (non refundable - because the cost for the bus must be paid for - refund only if you can find a substitute or there are people on the wait list willing to take your place). There will be some rooms available for singles (supplement cost incurred) if you do not wish to share and possibly some triples/twin rooms units as well for those who want to share.
