Courtyard Project - Stage One CompletedSince the launch at the Mid-Year dinner on June 2010, the first stage of the courtyard project has been completed. The paving has been completed. The photographs below show the courtyard from various angles. The interesting additions are the pattern and the incorporation of CAV’s logo at the centre.
Picture-1 Picture-2The next stage is installation of lightings, landscaping the surrounding and finally the construction of the open air timber stage.
Up to date $22,288 has been donated by many generous CAV members, sponsors and public. We do require more funds to complete the project. Please open your heart and your wallet and make a donation, your names will be engraved in the Donor Board (see photo below) to be erected in the landscaped area of the courtyard. Donors' plaque Courtyard Project - Opening Ceremony on the 12th March 2011 Stage one of the Courtyard Project was completed earlier this year. About 550 sq meter of area outside the kitchen were paved. The landscaping around the new courtyard between the school building and the garden and the front left of the Hall was completed in Feb.
The new Courtyard was officially opened on 12th March 2011. Leading the VIP guests was the deputy Consul General of PRC, Mr Wang Fangwen, and most of the generous donors to the construction of the Courtyard and many invited guests.
The Courtyard was declared open by the President, Mrs Lillian Lai, followed by cutting of ribbon by all the donors present. The finale was a spectacular lion dance and lighting of a long string of fire crackers. More than 80 guests attended the opening ceremony.
