Launch of Chinese Courtyard Project - 26th June 2010
Dear Members and Friends of CAV
This year of the Tiger, 2010, we are embarking on our multi-purpose Chinese Courtyard project at the northern aspect of our CAV landsite next to the CAV hall.
The courtyard will serve the purposes for:
- Outdoor recreational activities such as martial arts, eg Tai Chi, Wushu and Lion Dance practice and exercises eg line dancing, aerobics and Zumba fitness
- Cultural dances, singing and play performances for school children as well as public speaking exercises will be served by an outdoor stage.
- Extra facility for holding food fairs and celebrating cultural festivities.
- Passive recreation such as Meditation, Yoga, Chinese Chess, Tea drinking ceremonies and musical interludes, eg flute, Erhu etc.
- Extension of outdoor resting and meal areas for school children and parents will be provided by the added awning/covered area.
Please look at the artist’s impression of the courtyard (courtyard-1), and a broader view from the front (courtyard-2). You can see the stage with a roof (in red colour) at the far end. The third picture (plaque) show how the proposed plaque looks like.

All donations will be acknowledged by CAV but donations of $1000/- or more, will qualify for the donor’s name to be inscribed on a plaque, in order of the amount donated, specially erected in the Courtyard,
